Paper Dollhouse (MoonDome) live debut of “The Walled Garden”
Featuring live Prophet8 performance, bespoke visuals + garden set design. Special spectral, 3D performance based on the new album sourced from electronics, history, the garden and the future.
Paper Dollhouse is an audio-visual, electronic project that frequently encompasses vocals, acoustic instruments, synthesisers, field recordings, and production manipulation. With a focus on meditative exploration, dreamlike pop, library music and club-focused electronic work, the project is broad in scope and comprises solo and collaborative work. From icy, electronic folk (A Box Painted Black, 2011), industrial noise and dark synthwave (Aeonflower, 2015), hypnotic spoken word (Rituals and Practices, 2012), ambient neon-lit dream pop (The Sky Looks Different Here, 2018) to rain-soaked techno (Empty Rave, 2016) and electronic library formations (Nightside A/ Cellophane L, 2016), each release transports the listener deeper into their unique dreamworld. They have collaborated with Asher Levitas, Old Apparatus, Daniel O’Sullivan an provided live support for GAS (Wolfgang Voigt), Carl Craig, Tropic Of Cancer and Jane Weaver.
Lisa Lavery presents “The Valley” (Special Performance)
A sound collage commissioned by Calderdale branch of Yorkshire Sound Women Network inspired by and called The Valley. Made up of ‘sounds of the salon’ put through a harsh bleaching process. Obsessed with the sheer number of salons in the valley and how that reflects the work opportunities available to women there and their existence as a safe space for women. Hairdryers/clippers/polystyrene heads/foils.
Flowers At Night (Live A/V set)
Flowers at Night is the music of Juno Cheetal from Sherkin Island, Ireland. Her sound is characterised by the multi layering of synths, strings, guitar loops going through pedals and layers of vocal harmonies and soundscapes, with background electronic/drone type textures. She uses mainly vintage synths like the Juno106, Jupiter 8, Mini Moog, Roland W30, 808, 909 drum machines, live drums, autoharp, and field recordings , mostly recorded from the countryside and also urban settings. Her live set incorporates a visual set with video footage filmed in rural Ireland, mainly in the lush gardens, woodland and coastal areas near her family home. Her inspiration comes from instrumental B sides and film soundtracks, and experimenting with vocal harmonisation. She also composes music for theatre and short films and is now based in London.
King Knut (NTS/Soho Radio) private press soundtracks b2b MoonDome garden ambience
King Knut is the work of Knut Jonas Sellevold, a producer who also hosts shows on Soho Radio and NTS. He recently released his third mixtape of hip-hop instrumentals ‘Unreleased Beats Vol. 3’ which drew comparisons with J-Dilla and garnered support from NTS, The Wire, Trevor Jackson, Cherrystones and Bleep. Coming out of the mid-2000s beats scene alongside Hudson Mohawke and Dorian Concept he went on to release on Musique Large and produced some of the early XX work. He is a multi-instrumentalist who has most recently been working with Daniel O’Sullivan, Asher Levitas and Marina Elderton. His DJ sets are an instinctive, psychedelic mix of private press rarities, industrial electronic work, rock, unearthed 70s library music, Eastern-European folk, Algerian pop, jazz and hip hop.
