#3 in our new series, this time featuring Bartholomew Presents The Daily Exorcises. You can join the open mic and perform your experimental piece, can be improvised, comedy, surreal, random, written, or just read something you love. There will be a mix of spoken word, live improv and more… come along, it’s free.
bartholomew is the solo project of theatre composer and sound designer
Chris Bartholomew-Fox. Having worked with various theatre companies
and toured internationally, Chris is now pursuing his own sounds and
stories. His music has been compared to the electronics of Oneohtrix
Point Never, the emotion of Burial and the drama of Wagner.
The Daily Exorcises, Chris’s first album, uses extended sampling
techniques to reclaim the music and memories from a past relationship.
Composed over two years, the album was conceived as a way of
understanding how the stories we construct to cope can be the ghost
that won’t let us go. For the first time
he is performing it live – combining
storytelling and cutting edge live
electronics to draw the audience into
the narrative he created, fought and
wants to challenge.
