SPeW
Angular, no wave, post-punk wonk funk. Sax, bass, drums and a noise guitar (or two) with vocal and vocational keyboard. Danceable songs of toxic dirt, lust and grandma. We get compared to: The Raincoats, X-Ray Specks, Bush Tetras, Lounge Lizards and Lydia Lunch (sometimes by someone who’s probably drunk).
Gardyloo Spew – vocals, sax, guitar and keys (A-Band, I Am Meat)/ MJ Ultra- bass (Shock Headed Peters, The Long Decline)/ Cos Chapman – guitar, backing vocals (Rude Mechanicals, Alternative TV)/ Dave Morgan – Drums (Weather Prophets, Alternative TV)
Art Trip
The band blast through their highly charged set on a knife edge and sometimes descend into glorious chaos. “Their knack for societal commentary, righteous anger and political rage but pulling from a broader musical palette than just ‘70s punk. With a blistering stage presence that manages to be both confrontational and inclusive, the band’s recorded efforts are no less impressive, and certainly no less immediate.” Sarah Lay – Get In Her Ears
Art Trip have been compared to these: Polly Harvey, Hawkwind, Wire, Lydia Lunch, The Damned, Hole, La Dusseldorf and X Ray Spex.
Melodie Holliday – Vocals/ Tony Fisher – Guitar/ Sarah Byrne – Bass & Vocals/ Paddy Pulzer – Drums/ Dan Holliday – Art
Agathe Max
Violin and electronic set up , improvised performance using string samples through effects, eerie voice and drum machine. Agathe Max’s sound is often mysterious, elegant and unexpected.
