First act 8pm
Andrew Plummer – voice, elec. guitar
Ruth Goller – elec. bass, voice
Will Glaser – drum kit
A new iteration of experimental-jazz and avant-rock band, World Sanguine Report – Plummer’s bruised vocals and darkly-enthralling lyrics, alongside Goller’s voice are enveloped in a tide of swirling tones, textures and rhythms from accompanying guitars, bass and drums. In often stark arrangement, World Sanguine Report revel on a journey through songs from a dark side of life and love.
Stanley Bad – violin, Badpipe, dance
Sonny Bamalama – guitars, organ
Paul May – drums
“Taking refuge from battle in the sonic mists surrounding us we set our minds to being sought by a suitable vehicle in which to travel. Having long spoken of the nectar of chambers, and confident of our welcome, we board this shaolin caravan, ask that it steers us through dream landscapes, into a music illuminated by freedom. ..This journey will be surprising and eventful, and in the fullness of time, beautifully epic..”
Matthew Bourne – prepared piano
With a reputation as a fearlessly unpredictable pianist and composer, Matthew Bourne is a passionate explorer of sound, possessed of a burning desire to make music on anything old, broken or infirm. Returning to New River Studios, this is a rare opportunity to hear Bourne perform selections from his acclaimed Leaf Label release of music for solo prepared piano, Irrealis.
